About Me

My name  is Gail Jordaan, I am based in Cape Town, South Africa. With over 20 years of experience at the Department of Animal Sciences at Stellenbosch University, I’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of postgraduate students in navigating the often-intimidating world of data analysis and statistics.

Throughout my career, I worked closely with both Master’s and PhD students, helping them design experiments, analyse data, and interpret results —  contributing to their successful publications in leading scientific journals.

Since retiring from full-time academia, I’ve continued this work through PostGrad Data Lab, offering one-on-one consultancy, as well as short seminars and workshops on key data-related research topics.

The Postgrad Data Lab is a research support service dedicated to helping MSc and PhD students in the natural sciences and agriculture navigate their data with clarity and confidence.

With over 25 years of experience in academic support, I’ve worked with hundreds of students across disciplines like biology, agriculture, environmental science, and life sciences. My goal is simple: to make sure you feel equipped and empowered to manage your research from start to finish.

I offer one-on-one sessions, both online and in person, where we focus on your actual project—not just theory. Whether you’re designing an experiment, cleaning up a dataset, interpreting results, or preparing for your thesis defense, I’ll guide you through every step with hands-on tools and practical advice.

Postgrad Data Lab isn’t a course platform—it’s a personalized support system built on years of experience, deep academic insight, and genuine care for your success.
